Headlining Saturday’s Premier League slate is Nottingham Forest’s home game against Coventry City at the City Ground.

Frank Lampard’s Coventry are without a point so far this season, and my Nottingham Forest vs Coventry City predictions don’t expect things to get any better, with Oliver Glasner’s team taking all three points as a 61% favorite.

Read on for my Premier League picks for Saturday, September 19, with kickoff at 12:30 p.m. ET on NBC.

Nottingham Forest vs Coventry City predictions

My Nottingham Forest vs Coventry City top pick: Nottingham Forest to win (61% probability)

Nottingham Forest have looked strong going forward since Glasner arrived at the club. Forest have only scored four goals, but their xG of 7.16 ranks seventh highest in the division. The creativity of Morgan Gibbs-White has plenty of room to shine with Forest’s wingbacks pushing high up the field.

Coventry have been far too naïve since promotion, trying to play their attacking brand of soccer against a standard of opposition that is far stronger, both statistically and in terms of personnel, than what they faced in the Championship. Coventry are yet to score in the Premier League this season, and with Taiwo Awoniyi injured, they’re without their most dangerous forward.

My Nottingham Forest vs Coventry City Over/Under pick: Over 2.5 goals (54% probability)

Igor Jesus will likely come in for Dan Ndoye after a strong cameo last weekend, adding another goal threat for Forest. As always with Glasner teams, the wingbacks are key to creating chances, with Neco Williams and Daniel Munoz creating mismatches and getting in behind Coventry’s wingbacks, allowing Forest to isolate the central defenders.

With Coventry giving up 2.5 goals per game so far this season, we should see the Over land. Forest are creating plenty of chances, and Coventry, despite being yet to score, have an xG of more than a goal per game, suggesting positive regression could be coming.

Nottingham Forest vs Coventry City combo

I’m going bolder on Nottingham Forest and taking Glasner’s men to cover the 1.5-goal spread. They’ve got real creativity in their ranks, and Coventry haven’t shown any willingness to adopt a more defense-first strategy. That attacking ideology should create the conditions for three or more goals to be scored.
