This coming Wednesday, September 16th, Trenton’s North Ward Citizens Police Advisory Council (CPAC) meeting at Galilee Baptist Church, 440 Martin Luther King Blvd. will include a very special guest speaker: City of Trenton Interim Housing and Economic Development Director Yolanda Vazquez.
Director Vazquez will be speaking to CPAC meeting attendees about our City of Trenton’s HED Department, its important mission, and how it is trying to improve both housing and economic development in our city. North Ward Councilwoman Jennifer Williams said, “As all Trentonians know, the topics of housing and economic development are vital to the success of our capital city today and going forward. I’m looking forward to hearing what Director Vazquez will share with us and the questions our attendees ask. We will surely have an interesting and worthwhile discussion.”
As always, a fruitful conversation will be held with the Trenton Police Department regarding crime and crime prevention in our city and citizens are very much encouraged to share their concerns. At each month’s Citizens Police Advisory Council meeting, the Trenton Police Department Community Relations team reports about crime issues in the North Ward and its initiatives to help residents reduce crime; the Trenton Fire Department and other City of Trenton Departments are also often in attendance to hear and report on citizen concerns. Additionally, the Trenton Community Street Teams deliver a report on their work to make neighborhoods safer.
This all leads to connection and a robust discussion of crime and community issues, with updates from residents, stakeholder groups and sharing of information. North Ward Citizens Police Advisory Council meetings are generally held on the 3rd Wednesday of each month at Galilee Baptist Church from 5:30 to 7 p.m., and all are welcome.
